I am new to soap making. I have been putting together a list of things i need to obtain. I have a man working on some wooden soap molds for me. I have been finding things on Mountainroseherbs.com. I havent had much luck with the coconut oil, stearic acid, methyl & propyl parabens, and cocomide dea. I am more interested in creamier soaps so i guess i should use milk. I heard that is harder than anything. I dont see anything harder other than worrying about scorching my milk. shouldnt be a problem. should i use powdered or liquid milk? If anyone has used the Porridge scent from Lush maybe you know a recipe for something similar. I am in love with that scent :) Thank you guys in advance for your help

Hello,

What is the purpose of adding methyl & propyl parabens, and cocomide dea to CP soap?

I would start simple; olive, coconut, palm and castor. For recipes, go to Kathy Miller soap online, then run any recipe through a lye calculator.

Thank you, that website is very informative. I've been looking for one like that. I was definitely going to make a simple one first before I attempted these. I am still getting all the ingredients now for the soaps I listed because I have alot of faith that I can be very good at this.
