Hey everyone I am James and am looking at jumping into soap making. My wife and I are massage therapists, make gluten free bread, tye dye, our own massage oils and even eat fire....so you know making our own soap just seemed like something we need to do.

Starting out I have one big question...which process is best to retain the helpful benefits of the herbs and which process is best for aroma... I figure this might be up for some debate but I need to start looking somewhere.

thanks in advance for any help and have a great day......

Welcome!
I would start reading the soap portion of this forum, then read some more.
I'm sure most of your questions will be answered by the time you're finished. :)

Hey James, welcome to the form! Fire eating ..... now, that's COOL! :D

I do cold process (CP) soap making. Another method soap makers commonly use is hot process (HP) soap making. My guess is that CP would be better for maintaining the benefits of herbs and essential oils since this method does not use high continuous heat which would break down their elements. I'm sure you will find several opinions on this topic as you browse through the forum.

hi welcome to the board :) i do cold process and hot process soap making...i like both. i dont know if either is better than the other though
