I'm glad I found this forum. I used to make soap years ago. Even had my own business. But I became ill and didn't continue with it. That was about 10 years ago. I still kept all of my wooden molds. Yesterday I went to the store and bought a pot, olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil, and lye. I printed out the recipe for the batch of bastile. I'm so excited to make a batch! I was going to do it today but I forgot to buy a container and spoon for the lye, so it will have to wait until tomorrow. I'm very excited to make soap though. I developed my recipe years ago, and if this batch goes well I might buy some additional oils, and some FOs and colorants. I doubt if I'll sell it again (there's an overwhelming number of soapmakers in my area), but I can always give it away. Anyway, I just wanted to say hello!
And, happy soaping - again!
