These pic are all done with cp soap as the base with the flowers all done in mp. These were FUN to make

I have more batches that will come out of the molds today and I'll post the pics as soon as I pop them out. If you want the instructions for any of them they will be uploaded to the site :)

RETRO CP bars with MP Flowers.

More detailed instructions will be on the site but here are the basics to explain how it's done :

1. For your CP Batch -
Measure/pre - weigh your ingredients.
Heat your oils and mix your lye/water, set them aside to cool. Under 100F is where we want to be.
While they are cooling, we will be colouring in the flower portions of the molds you have chosen.

2. Pick vibrant Non Bleeding Colourants, frosted mica's were used for these bars or use Wilton's cake icing colours. Take small amounts of mp and melt one colour at a time in the microwave. Careful not the burn the soap, if you have ever smelled burned mp you'll only want to do it once. IMPORTANT: Have a syringe (no needle tip please) standing by for EACH colour. You can pick these up at the pharmacy for pennies each. The mp has to be 'hot', you want it very thin so it will flow easily and lay into the flower pattern without glooping up as the lines and petals are thin and shallow . Work accurately and quickly and if you over pour the flowers give it a minute to set up and scrape away with any tool that works for you. Some of my staff like bamboo skewers, others use the tip of a sharp knife. Make sure you clean every bit away. Continue on with the rest of the colours for each flower that requires a colour change.
Once you are all done creating the flowers take a damp cloth and clean the inside of the mold being careful not to disturb the flowers. Now spray the whole inside with alcohol. With a Q-tip oil the areas in the mold that do not have flowers and the sides of the mold. Be generous on the sides but not enough to drip. CAREFUL here, oil just the parts that are not flowers.

3. Back to CP batch cooling on the counter.
When you are at the appropriate temps for mixing go ahead and make your batch as you normally would. Then pour the batch into the molds and cover with a heavy towel to insulate. (See the section on our site to set up your work area for single mold cp soaping!) With Martin Creative molds your batch is ready to come out long before 24 hrs. When your batch if firm enough, put it into the fridge to chill and really firm up. Pop the soap out of the molds and if you like, dust the cp portion of your bars with snowy frosted mica. That is how we achieve the sheen on all of our bars.

Have fun with these..and should you have any questions about any creative molding, don't hesitate to email us, we're always here to help!
