Hello!

My name is Shelley :) this is my first post! Glad to have found such an amazing group. I started soaping last summer and have been peeking around the forum for tips and tricks. The photos below are from a batch I made a couple of nights ago.

If you look closely, you may notice that there are some spots of TD and indigo powder in my soaps. I have tried adding the colorants directly to the batter and premixing it with olive oil, but still end up getting little spots of colorants in my soaps. Maybe I am doing it wrong! Guess I need to do a bit more research :)

Besides a mini-mixer as mentioned above, some colorants take a little longer than others to soak up the oil (or water or glycerin, depending on what you use) than others.

You may find this helpful for mixing colorants:
