Got my etsy store up but no orders yet. :-( I will give it time. I think I need to "tweak" my jar pics. Maybe my prices are too high? Shipping is what get's us all. :-(

If anyone has any recommendations for me on websites please feel free to let me know.

Pictures sell on etsy so do as I say & not as I do. Here are my top 2 suggestions for etsy.:

1) You (and I both) NEED a different photo for each scent. I know, I know, that is a pain in the butt. Set up scenes, take the candles out into a park or set them up inyour kitchen w/ fresh fruits, etc.

2) You also need to list or renew each and every day, at the very least 3-4 times a week. That is what puts you at the top of the search engine. You must stay on top because no one is going to dig through 30 or 100 pages of candles to find yours. It cost .20cents to hit the renew/relist button which removes you from page 30, 60. 100+ and places you on page 1. If you relist 3 (.20cents x 3 = .60cents) items, 4 times a week (.60cents x 4 = $2.40), that is less than $10.00 per month for advertisment. A SMALL price to pay to show up on top of the search engine.

ALSO... go and heart (make favorite) a lot of other shops. 9 out of 10 people you heart will come to look at your shop. Many will mark you as a favorite and then whoever likes their stuff will look to see who they like & you will be seeen by those people. It is like a spiderweb.

ALSO... go to the treasury area & find the BNR treasuries. That stands for buy and replace. If you buy an item from a shop in that treasury, your photo will be added to that treasury & you will get lots of views that way.

ALSO... in the forums area there are games where you buy from someone on the list & soemone will buy from you, everyone on that thread/list will view your shop.

ALSO... there are sswap/trade threads where anyone who might be interested in a barter can add their name to the list. Everyone on that list (100s of sellers) will view your shop to see if they like you and/or might want to barter.

You just have to figure out how to get people in to your shop. The 1st 2 suggestions are the strongest by far.

Type jar candle into etsy's search engine. There are 279 pages. Look through about 30 pages. Which photos speak to you?
