Oh interesting ... i never use other liquids before

I can replace the same amount of water with another liquid no problem?
Yes! You can try that sometime.

If what you are going to is has sugar or carbohydrates in it, it can heat up a lot and scorch the solution creating fumes and burning the mix.

So a lot of them are frozen or semi frozen before using it to mix with the lye.

I started with making a tea with the distilled water then using that as water replacement without too much trouble. Add the lye a bit more slowly to be on the cautious side.

Calendula petals in the lye water makes a beautiful yellow soap

Nice soap

Sugars and carbs won't work with the Citric acid I have in the recipe since those type of liquids need to be frozen to not burn

I read others saying that sugar heats up their lye solution and then burns, but I've never, ever had that happen. Honey, yes; molasses, yes. White sugar, powdered sugar, sorbitol - not even a little.

Additional liquid - whether it has sugar in it or not - will definitely heat up the lye solution. That's why I don't add my additional liquid (whether plain or with additives) to my lye solution; I add it to the oils at the same time as the lye solution.

What are other non sugar/carbs liquid beside water? I guess pure tea or coffee... anything else?
Sometimes for a wide search it's nice to use Google

I think we mean overall liquids with sugar in it, like pumpkin puree

Yes pure white sugar, I noticed a tiny bit of yellow color to the water

Never tried cucumber or pure Aloe as a full water replacement 🤔
