Well, I just unmolded my 1st soaps made in my 2" square pvc molds (gm rosemary mint) and on one hand I am super-jazzed for these

But not so much at this

I just shredded up the nasty one and am attempting a rebatch. I threw caution to the wind and heated up the shreds w/a teensy bit of water and just poured it into one of the pvc sections that had cracked a bit when I used the table saw (apparently with the wrong blade). I had DH cut the top off so I could use it as a rebatch mold.
Check it out!

The soap is fantastic . Did you bang the mold while you were putting the soap in , it helps when I use my downspout mold .I am sorry that happened , I love the size of the bars :D

oh i do love those first soaps! They look awesome!

I hope you have a successful rebatch!

Yeah I did bang it down, which sent a glob of raw soap onto my cheek... problem is, I had just had a face laser treatment that morning (I'm doing a clinical trial for the matrix rf laser and I wasn't supposed to put ANYTHING on my face except tepid water for 24 hrs.) and had to spray my raw face with vinegar which KILLED! Luckily there was no mark or anything... PHEW!

Anyway, back on point: I think it was a little too thick since I had to wait til I got a thicker trace to add the rosemary and mint leaves. I'm thinking I'll probably skip the "additives" and pour at a lighter trace so as to get smoother bars.

I'll post pix when and if the rebatch ones get hard enough to cut.

Agh! That has happened to me a few times with my round PVC molds. Just the other day actually! I ended up grating it and adding it to a new batch.

so, where did you find that mold? AND I love the fact that your soap looks like your counter  Beautiful!

Ouch! lol. Well, I feel for ya on the ones that stuck, (they'll just be out dirty little secret...heh..) but the GOOD ones are AMAZING!! I just love that natural look. Did you give the rosemary and mint a swizzle in a grinder first? They look sooooo yummy. Almost like a coffee cake! </hungry/>

Kittywings, that cut down pipe looks like an awesome mold too. With the rough bits filed down & some ends it'd be a beauty, for cp as well as rebatch!
I love those chunky bars, they have a real rustic look to them :)

COoooool! Did yo order it online, or are they local to you? And for $5, I'd rather go with that than try to mess around with silicone just for block soaps, kwim?

i love the color, is that hp? i did hp in pvc, banged it very hard to get out air. If ya did cp you wouldnt have that prob! kidding, i make both methods.

a bit off topic, but I recommend against the vinegar on the face thing. lye + acid = HEAT which burns, vinegar burns and is a serious irritatant, and these on top of whatever else is going on is like adding insult to injury. huge amounts of water is your best bet, washing then with a mild soap to remove any oils/soap batter that might be holding some lye to your skin, then that's it.

I once got a concentrated KOH solution just under my eye and someone put vinegar on it. I will never forget that pain. OH MY GOD.

Anyway, put a baggie over the top end of the mold and hold or loosely tape it when banging a pipe mold. Learned that one the hard way too :)
