Does anyone have an out of this world goats milk soap recipe for use as a daily facial cleanser? I have seen several recipes, but does anyone have one they have tried and believe in. I have sensitive skin and never suffered from occasional acne until I turned 35 and had two kids! Man, life can be cruel! Anyway, I am sure most of the problem is hormonal, but maybe someone out there has a wonderful recipe they could suggest to me.

75% OO
20% CO or PKO
5% Castor

This is my favorite recipe. It makes a hard bar once cured, and is very mild with lovely lather. Just use Goat's Milk instead of water.

I use this daily on my face, as does my mom, my brother, my sisters in law, and my mother in law. Customers love it, too.

Add a bit of colloidal oatmeal and honey if you wish.

For acne, lavender and tea tree EO's help balance the skin and banish bacteria. A tiny bit of clay could also be added if your skin is oily, but you don't want to go too far and dry out the skin, which causes your body to produce more oil....

Please forgive my stupidity....I am new to soap making and am unsure how to break down the percentages. Is there a calculator I can use? Also, what qualities does the castor oil have?

Here is a link to a calculator. I believe soapcalc has oil qualities info. You are doing well as a beginner to know your oils etc , good for you :D

http://www.soapcalc.net/calc/soapcalcwp.asp

The percentages for a 1 lb batch for example, would be
75% OO ~~~~~~~~ 12oz
20%CO or PKO ~~~~ 3.2 oz
Castor Oil ~~~~~~~ .8oz

THank you so much for all your help on the many questions I have had. I am trying hard to understand all this...it can tend to make a beginners head spin around! I appreciate this website so much. Everyone has been so nice and helpful. :D :D :D

I know this is an older post, but is it okay to do a water discount for this recipe? I think I'm going to try this today, but since I'm going to use goat's milk I was wondering if I discount the water would it help the soap set up a little bit faster?

i assume you are referring to water as a % of oils? sorry but I don't use that measurement. i prefer to use the concentration of the lye solution - and as i don't know where you are starting it's hard to make a recommendation.
