Hello! I will be getting Dairy Goats soon and I would like to make soap with the goat's milk. Are any of you participants of goat milk soap making? LOL If you are, could you please tell me some tips and tricks, and what breeds seem to make the best soaps?

Oh, is it this easy to make them (how would I make 'Goat Milk Suspensions' on my own at home?) : http://findinghomeonline.com/how-to-make-homemade-goats-milk-soap/

Hi there. What you have there is a Melt & Pour soap base rather than a Cold Process where you are adding the goat milk into the soap. Goat milk makes an amazing soap.

If you do the CP method... I will tell you what works for me. I don't have the patience to freeze the milk and wait, plus the potential of scorching because knowing me I will add the lye too fast. I am the most impatient soap maker; honestly, I am like that with everything. LOL I do a water discount and add it to the oils and stick blend. SO.... for easy numbers... if my lye is 4.5 oz and my water is 12 oz. I take 6 oz of milk and subtract from my water that leaves me with 6oz left of water. You want to be sure your liquid is greater than the lye to mix appropriately. I mix the 4.5 oz of lye into my 6 oz of water. I will probably have floaties of lye and I will strain that out when I pour it into my oils but before I do that, I take my reserved 6oz of milk and mix it in my melted oils and butters. I stick blend to incorporate. Once my lye has cooled down to less than 100F, I will then add my lye mixture straining it and proceed to make soap as normal.

I make yogurt soap the same way. It has always worked for me. I am not sure if this is proper but my soap comes out beautifully. Another tip... put the soap in the fridge over night. It might over heat like crazy and crack if not, if you don't want to do that then at least do not insulate.
