ok,I found several different recipes...but, I did the easiest one...well, that turned out crappy.
I was just wondering if I can't just use my normal cp recipe and then
use goat milk instead of water or half water and half goat milk.
Can I use the condensed goat milk with water and mix it all with the lye???

The recipe I used I put EO's in and when I put the full mold on the buffet where I have my soap molds rest it leaked all over the place and I figured that was because I filled it to the top of the mold...Well, when I opened it to cut the loaf the soap shrunk down to be very small
soaps.

HELP SOMEONE PLEASEEEEEEE!!!

:D hi there! :D

sorry you're having a tough time of it!

sometimes i add gmilk to my soap-you don't have to have a special recipe. i used canned gmilk alot.

to give an example: if i need 12 oz water for my batter-i sub 1/3 or 4 oz.

i mix 8 oz with the lye-let it cool and add to your oils-as soon as i got that stirred in i add the g/m and then f/o's. at a medium/light trace i pour into the mold.

the natural sugar in milk has a tendency to scorch or darken some at gell-honey does this too. you may want to check that the soap doesnt get too hot-some stop gel by freezing. i like the light amber/cream color myself.

ok, so you just add the water/lye mix to the oils mix....Do you bring it to trace or not yet??
also, how much FO do you use??
another question .... If I wanted to add crushed lavender or oatmeal to my goat milk soap how much should i use??

add the lye/water to the oils-then as soon as it's incorporated add the milk.

f/o's vary so much from vendor to vendor-usually .5-1 oz per pound of oils.

after you get your batch to about thin gravy add your herbs and oats. if you add it when heavy trace it will not mix in evenly. usually 1-2 tbsp per pound of oil (ppo).

make sure your oats are fairly well ground-i use a coffee grinder.
unprocessed oats can get scratchy. you can sprinkle the top of the soap with the whole oats-for looks.
