This was the first time I've added agave. I've had it in the cabinet for quite awhile and it was a spur of the moment addition. I didn't realize it would turn the lye solution such a dark brown and I only added 12 grams. However, I think it really did help with the fluidity. Normally, I use sodium lactate but I forgot to order more.
The tempered GM immediately turned orange when I added in today's batch. But the discoloration isn't as dark as yesterday's agave batch. So from my experience, I'm going to say GM discolors in HP. Not a big deal, IMO, since I'd just use FOs which turn dark brown.
