Goat Milk Candles?

Hello!

I have a small dairy goat farm and have been making goat milk soap for awhile now. I heard that it is possible to make candles with added goat milk. It sounds strange, but also very cool! Does anyone have any tips, tricks, or links that they use? I tried googling but I don't always trust eHow and things like that. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I don't think so. Burning goat milk would smell very bad.

I am having trouble figuring out how one would get liquid to bind to wax

I have been making candles for many years this is something I have never heard of. I personally think goat milk is best used for awesome soaps. I wouldn't think it would smell very good in a candle.

Some people adding goat fat, or pure butter from goat milk in wax. Tea spoon of butter per 5 pounds of wax. It's work only for nice worlds on labels to attract buyers. :wink: Good luck.

Yes you can. Melt 2 pounds of wax first then add a 1/4 cup of goats milk stirring continuously until then you add your oils the pour. It makes a very nice top on the candles to. I have been doing this now for 10 years.

How do you prevent the stench of spoiled goat milk? I opened several goat milk candles to check them 3 weeks post candle making before giving them as gifts. So glad I checked.... the Smell was horrific!
Please share your methodology.
