Hi Everyone :p

Can glycerin go bad? I noticed my glycerin has a slightly strange scent. I didn't use it. It just didn't smell right. I bought it about a year ago.

Thanks

Are you talking about liquid vegetable glycerin or melt and pour soap base? Either way, I've never had either go bad.
Some melt and pour bases smell pretty strong, but the smell usually goes away after heating and adding scent.

Can I ask where you got it?

I just checked a bottle I have, it's probably almost a year old or so from NGC, and it has a very light smell similar to unscented dish soap. I have a newer one from MRH & it smells the same as the other.
I just checked a couple different suppliers, and they say it has a shelf life of 2-3 yrs.

I will have to look up when I bought it. I think it has been about 1 year. I bought a gallon. I have a half gallon left.
I always pour it into a smaller container & just keep the smaller bottle refilled; so the larger gallon doesn't get contaminated.
