Hello everybody, somebody approached me Sunday. Ask about using the glycerin. Produced while making biodiesel fuel in soap. I had no idea what he was talking about. But did express my concern. About using it in personal care. Watched some ytube vids. But still know nothing about Biodiesel. Anyone familiar with Biodiesel? And this subject? Thank you

"...using the glycerin produced while making biodiesel fuel in soap..."

Biodiesel production has crude glycerin as a byproduct. If the person doesn't know how to refine and purify this byproduct enough to meet food- or pharmaceutical-grade standards, it's not something you'd want to use in food or personal care products

Bluntly, the idea of selling that crude glycerin to soapmakers (or any personal care use) is a fairy story used to entice people to invest in the machinery & supplies to make biodiesel. Home, DIY production is as DeeAnna says, nothing like that made commercially.

Let alone that soapmakers don't add glycerin to soap.
