Hey everyone!!!
You may have noticed I haven't really been around for some time
In stead of sitting behind the pc I decided to actively do something for a change....
1) You know, when your cupboards look like a bomb exploded, you have to do something.
We had 2 old fridges, those consumed an amazing amount of energy and way to much space. Bought a second hand american fridge with one door, for only 180 euro. Placed a storage rack in the pantry. Everything in place & easy to clean now :)
2) Have to mention, my man is a horterer. He keeps clinging on to junk. And yes, it's a hell of a job to throw away whatever memorabelia a man wants to cherish & love for eternity  The worse is he wants to keep everything but gets a fit if he sees clutter :? Why don't man make sense.
Started in the smallest room, cause there was the most crap in there. My closet is in there & also laundry room. Clothes were lying all over the place, even hanging from te ceilig lamp; there was simply not a square inch of empty space.
Put all the junk/things you don't need on a daily base outside in te hallway.
With pain in my hart bought a small plastic cabinet for my soap stuff, put it in there & used the old cabinet for my t shirts & sweaters.
Put all the coats not suitable for the time of the year in my hanging closet, that had space after removing the t's & sweaters.
Bought some plastic crates to store everything neatly.
Took the shoe rack hanging from my door & mounted it onto the hallway wall.
3) Started cleaning out the basement. Ouch. That cost me 2 years of my life. In secret 8) , threw away everything old, ugly & useless. Took 3 ful shoppingcarts of mess out of there.
No, honey, you don't need a broken typewriter. No it can't be fixed, typewriter fixers do no longer exist. We have computers now
After the reorginisation there was more than enough space to neatly store all the stuff we wanted to keep from the little room.
4) Some cute white baskets in the bathroom & reorganizing again made a lot of change.

Now you might think why...
Never thought it was possible, but my little clothes packed, stinky shoes & cat hair room became an actual clean & beautiful soap room!!! :D :D :D
The last thing I'm gonna do is paint it (any color suggestions, should be nice with the bordeaux red in my home), put a vinyl floor in there & a friend of us is going to make me a dust free curing rack.
When I'm ready I'll post a pic :)

So now there's no more excuse, I have to start making soaps :D I'll be placing some orders in Amerika soon & hope to be selling in December.
Wish me luck & thanks for reading this!

HHOOOOOOORRRRRAAAAYYYYY!!!! :D I absolutely love to clean things.. I think its part of the reason i got into this hobby  I'm glad you did something that made you feel good afterwards!!

Welcome back Dagmar
Sounds like you accomplished a whole lot. Good for you :D .I like it when things all have a place. Now you can soap away to your hearts content. All the best with your soap business.

Well done there is nothing more cathartic, than a good clear out, I think it frees the mind of old thoughts and feelings that no longer should be there, and gives you freedom to move on.... to making lots more soap!

Dag, everytime I see the picture of your kitty (avatar) I just keep thinking about coming to your country to KID NAP HIM!! he's such a cutie pie for real! :D

Dagmar!! Yes I had noticed that you hadn't been around for a while. I did think of you and hoped you were ok. I know you had some issues with your health a while ago??
Nonetheless, great to see you back. And I'm so inspired by your Domestic Godessing!! My DH is a hoarder too...he even had a broken vacuum cleaner in the garage that he "was going to turn into a generator", mind you he is not in any way electrically knowledgable, so I don't know how he was going to do that. I have thrown it out now, but I have to throw a couple of things out a week or he will notice that all his junk is gone...sshhh don't tell
That vacuum cleaner could have gone in the pile with the broken typewriter, no?

I MISSED YOU ALL!!!
oh chrissy, the broken vacuum cleaner sound very familiar. Turn it in to a generator... right
Tried to sneaky throw away stuff, but he notices everything
My health is pretty good right now; we recently got a subscription on eco veggies & fruit. Each Thursday we pick up a bag for 15 euro, and it lasts through the hole week :D
Very yummie and way better qualilty & freshness than in the grocerystore! It includes some very old 'forgotton' veggies and things you normally just don't think of. Makes that we cook 6 times a week and with a lot of veriety.
That & keeping myself happy and busy helps a lot :D

Good for you Dagmar, so good to hear that you are great.
And yes, fresh (really fresh) food certainly does make a difference.Personally, I cut out a lot of processed food about a year ago, and I feel much better for it. I just seem to make better food choices, wholegrain over white, you know that sort of thing, no refined sugars, salts...it's hard at first but after a month or so you really feel the difference and you just feel, I don't know, cleaner or something!
I used to have a fruit and vege man at work, $20 for a weeks worth of fruit and veg, it was great. And it was straight from the markets, straight from the farmer. So fresh!! And yes, when you eat what is in season, as opposed to what you pick in the supermarket (cos they keep stuff all year round) you do find yourself eating veges that you hadn't thought of for a while.
I know I run the risk of offending lots of people here but I am loving brussel sprouts at the moment!!

:D Brussel sprouts are realy common over here; belgium is our neighbour  The real reason people (and especailly kids) don't like them is you shouldn't let them cook so long they get that green/greyish look... Yuck!
I love them, a real winter food. Brussel sprout soup is also yummie.
