In reply to Snappyllama on the intro thread.
Thanks Snappyllama. I watched soaping 101 dollar store items video last week. I did pick up a few of my items there, my glass bowls, measuring items, and spatulas, and icing spatula.
I have a scale that I purchased moons ago that weighs in grams, ounces, and pounds for use when I was selling on ebay so that saved me some money.
DH has a stick blender (he is the cook in the house). So, I figured it would be ok to just purchase new attachments for him, and I would use his old attachments for soap. Please correct me if I am wrong about this as far as using the electric part that the attachments connect to for both food and soap? It was cheaper going this route but I definitely will spend the money if I cannot use his power adaptor.
I figured for DD I could use her gluten free oats in the soap. Not sure if the GF would provide the same benefits on the skin as the other oats would. Maybe need to do more research into that. Anyone have luck using GF oats for soap?
OHOH I did purchase CO for use in the soaps as well as SB. Maybe I will do a small batch with the CO at first to see how it does on our skin. IF it doesn't work out, we can use the CO for cooking purposes.
I just about have all of my ingredients to get started on my first batch. Waiting for my lye to arrive in the mail.
