The guy who contacted me for workshops does not have a permit to handle lye at his venue, so I suggested we start with some MP design classes instead. I went to get a batch of MP yesterday and made a gemstone and terrazzo soap to snap some photos for his campaigns.

I am IN LOVE with these! How did you learn the technique to make them?

Thanks for your kind words! To be honest, it's just randomly trying. I've seen a few IG pages with gemstone soaps (Korean and Japanese pages) so I looked around a bit at the finished products and experimented. Most of these makers have a masterclass but it's a couple of hundreds, which is outrageously expensive so I never officially "learnt".

There are a few different suggestions on achieving a "gemstone" look so I'm also just experimenting various techniques to achieve different looks. From what I've tried, honestly, most of it is pretty much just layering, kiss pours and a bit of mica sprinkling here and there. The first crystal was a bit different as it consists of making several bases and pinching them apart before holding them together in layers using clear soap. You cant go wrong once you start slicing them up.
