ok, i never knew what you all were talking about, but.. i made some cp(peach colored) and the bars in wood mold look totally different than the one leftover i poured into a plastic mold(that cracked), they both look good, so the one in the plastic mold wasnt insulted , so it never geled? Im learning so much and love this forum!

I like this forum too, and I'm glad you're having fun with all the testing and experiments. That's one of the best parts of soaping! :)

Gelling is a matter of personal preference. I tend to gel most of my soaps because I like the appearance. However, I have found that I get a stronger, truer scent with eucalyptus EO if I prevent it.

so, to prevent it, just dont cover it?

The easiest way to prevent gelling is stick it in the fridge or the freezer. Not covering it, may give you a partial gel in some cases, which makes for sucky looking (although still usable) soap.

so no matter what kind of mold? in the fridge right after i put mixture in the mold?

That's how I do it with my TOG and with my gladware and other "found" molds.

I just don't cover the TOG because it would be insulated if I did.

It's a brand of soap mold. They're made by Paul (soapmaker man) a former moderator here.
