As I have complained earlier, I had a difficult time at first how to have a reasonably smooth out my soap batter in the little slab mold, with my recipes usually moving pretty fast.
I think I came to a solution! Or rather to a way of cheating the system....
I had this impression mat that I had gotten a long time ago but never actually ended up using. So I just cut it to the size of the mold and put it on the top of the soap, and viola, no more humpty-bumpty surfaced soap!
Since I was also doing my soap carve challenge today, and had some leftover black soap batter, I filled in this one too. It's not perfect, I could have been more precise, but overall like the look -- muted but a little more elegant than just plain soap. Matches the "afternoon tea" scent that I used with it and quite like.

Soaping at room temp and less stick blending will make for a thinner batter. And you can always use a planer to eliminate any silicone rash.

Yes, I know. But I use beeswax and quite a bit of hard butters so can't soap very cold (I did soaped pretty cool this time and it was definitely better). And I don't have a planer and not planning to invest into one :(
But I'm happy with this solution too, I like lacey soap :)

They look absolutely beautiful! I've never done CP with beeswax (only HP) and I think it's very impressive how you made such a challenging recipe work!

Thank you :) In general I don't think beeswax is really challenging, except if you want very intricate swirls (or a very smooth-top batter :) ). I only use 1% usually, but I can really feel the difference and really like it. You should try it in CP if you liked it in HP!

I probably should.. I love my beeswax soaps:)

Yes, it's nice for hardness and longevity and it's very soft on the skin.

Yes, what @szaza said, and it is hard to describe but it has somehow a unique feel on the skin. I know that some people here do not like it because of that.
