I am thinking about doing a peru balsam eo with ground cinn. and/or ground nutmeg. I want to try to make a fench toast like scent and look. do you think this combination would work? I do not want to use an fo.

Honey might help with the scent , maybe brown sugar in your lye water. I don't know what your eo smells like. You could try a swirl with the cinnamon and nutmeg .That is all I can think of.

I would only caution that cinnamon can add "scratch" to soap- I would assume that ground nutmeg would also. Not all that unpleasant. I kind of like the wake-up to my skin, but then I follow up with another creamy, smooth, lathery soap.

I haven't found that the addition of dry herbs, or spices or flowers adds much if any scent to CP soap. Lye kills a lot of scent, which is why many of us use the stronger eo's. But some people do comment that they can smell oats in my oatmeal bars.

I will be curious to see how your experiment works, especially over time as the soap ages. Good luck with it and have fun!
