Even after a few years of soaping, I am still too chicken to use a soap before 4 weeks. Doesn't stop me from picking them up every day and smelling them while I wait though.

Nothing wrong with that. :)

Definitely nothing wrong with it. I'm jealous of your patience!

I'm curious. Be honest. Who has the patience to wait four weeks to start using their CP? I have to confess, I cheat and usually start using mine much earlier than that. I've cleaned too much day-old soap off dishes and spatulas with bare hands without any irritation to convince myself I should wait longer than a couple of weeks to pop those puppies in the shower. How long do you guys usually resist? And has using it early ever backfired on you? I'm kind of waiting for the day I come out of the shower looking like a lobster or a lizard from too much lye, but I can't seem to help myself sometimes.

I use my soaps within days. You really do not have to wait 4-6 weeks. If you superfat, at least 5%, the soap should be okay by then. That being said, the longer the cure, the milder the soap and the greater the lather. If selling, I really like my soaps to cure as long as possible. An aged soap makes the best soap, as long as you have a good eo or fo scent that sticks around. I have some soaps that are a couple of years old that still smell really good. The lather is now thick and dense.

I cant wait. I use my soap immediately and havent had any problems. I made cream and solid soap last weekend and have used both. Can't wait to compare after 4-8 weeks.
