Greetings! It all started with my friends big fat gay wedding... I made bath bombs and lotion bars for the favors, but kept seeing yummy pics of homemade soaps.

I took the plunge and made a couple of CP soaps for Christmas gifts (almond joy with cocoa butter, almond & coconut oil, and a shea butter mix soap with tea tree & lemon grass EO).

Then at hubby's request for a "good plain soap" I made a simple olive & coconut oil soap that we love ( I think it will be a good base recipe to work from) and more Shea & tea tree soap..

Oh! Then I got to thinking about homemade laundry detergent after hubs reacted to something in the commercial stuff. Made some up with washing soda, borax & Fels-Naptha soap. Works a peach! But some prairie woman compulsion caused me to make a batch of hot process coconut oil & crisco soap with only 0.5% super fat. Seems to have come out fine, and washes well.

Now I'm looking at the bowl of lavender buds I just collected from my garden. They are basically black, but I wonder if "mouse turd soap" wouldn't be kinda cute... Would dried orange peels really be too brown? Could I use whole dried slices of oranges somehow? How would rosemary work? Oh and coffee!! With a layer of white on top.

Right now I'm more interested in basic simple things, maybe simple colors with coffee or paprika. I do have some EO's to play with.

My name is Sea and I'm a fledgeling soapaholic...
