The idea of Bay Rum and Lime sounded good to me. Lots and lots of good reviews, lots of other soapers selling soaps with it.

I don't like it. I suppose it smells alright, but it's not my kind of scent and I don't think any of my male family and friends will go for it either. My daughter (15) actually think it smells "ok" but my 13 year old son scrunched up his face and scowled at them (he's a special needs kiddo so his reactions are a little different than other kids his age LOL). I tried one with more Lime than Bay Rum, one with more Bay Rum and one 50/50.

I ordered 1oz each Cold Water and Drakkar on the advice of people on the Bramble Berry facebook page, and am hoping I like them more.

Anyway, enough babbling, my question is, for those of you with more experience and better noses tell me if I can use other certain FOs to fix this Bay Rum so the other 3oz don't go to waste?

I like Bay Rum & Vanilla. I also like Bay Rum, Vanilla & a little orange.

My husband likes Bay Rum, Cedarwood & a little lime.

I sell the heck out of bayrum & coconut. I have lots of ladies buy it & some men too. It's VERY unisex.

Big difference in scent as to which Bay Rum you tried. I've only tried 2; one from BB and one from WSP but the difference in the scent was shocking!

I have the one from BB. It's smelling better the long the soap sits (I like the one with more lime) but still not my thing. I was planning on getting coconut and vanilla soon so I'll try those.

My first FO order was OT but I dislike their bottles enough (leaky plastic) that I won't order again. The scents in soap haven't bowled me over either, which is disappointing because I like to support local businesses.

Off topic, but important: Fragrance oils should not be stored in plastic. Most sites recommend that you transfer to amber glass upon receipt. The OT web site states "Due to the high cost of shipping, we ship in HDPE, however, we offer Amber Glass if you prefer."

Stiffer plastic botttles may not bow llike the HDPE, but that doesn't mean they are any better for storing the FOs - each type is plastic is permeable to different materials.

I managed to miss that  I will remember that if I get plastic from other merchants, thank you.

Amy, I have had the same experience with black vetiver cafe and green Irish tweed. Lots of fans out there but neither of them wowed me as much as a good EO blend.

If you are looking for something manly, I really liked Exotic Amazon Teakwood from Elements Bath & Body. Hubby also likes Eucalyptus and Mint blends.
