Oh well.. my tkb order came today and I used the grape pop mica to a layer of purple on my soap. I added just a bit to my oils reserved for color and it looked grey instead of purple so I added 2 bits more and boy did it looks purple !!!

How much do you folks normally use of the pop's and do they usually get brighter after cure or do you pretty much get what you see when you pour ?

thanks

Interestingly, you might have been ok (depending on the level of purple you wanted) with gray batter. It tends to change after it sits in the mold. I have had this happen with numerous purples.

I haven't CP'ed with the Grape yet (it's the only one so far - but it's on my list). The color defiantly intensifies when it gels versus non-gel. But I haven't had any issues with blue, green, orange, yellow, strawberry (does morph peach), or raspberry.

It also depends on what colour "tinge"your soap batter has, for example if its a high coconut recipe it's going to be fairly white, but if its got a lot of olive it's going to have a green or yellowish cast to it.
It all goes back to the colour wheel we learnt in kindy, yellow + blue = green. Sounds like you got it right though, purple is one of my most difficult colours to achieve consistently, though the pop mica is definitely IMO the best purple colourant around for reliability and intensity.

Well, my base is also....goat milk with honey... I added about 1 T of titanium oxide to the base... probably not enough to do any good ?

Then a small measure of this was retained for the purple color added.

Today... it is certainly not a vivid purple as when I put it in the mold but it definately is still purple !

I need to take a pic so I can compare the color in a few weeks.
