First time soap pics

Well.... I made one slab in a cardboard box. It looks okay but I guess I waited too long to pour it or I didnt smooth it down enough with a spatula. It feels firm... I'll try to cut it this afternoon.

The small things are left overs that I poured into a bee mold.

It looks great Charlotteda! I personally love the look of a thicker trace when you pour it and it gives the appearance of luscious icing on a cake. Looks terrific when it is cut in bars. IMO it looks better than a bar with a perfectly flat top.

Problem is... its 2.5 inches deep below that creamy top. With the box dimensions of 10 x 6.

I was thinking if I made a long cut to split it in half... I would have 2 slabs:
3 " wide 6" long 2.5" high/deep

That would give me individual bars 3 x 2.5 x whatever they are supposed to be. I guess I would trim off that creamy edge ?

Don't cut off the pretty tops!! And don't stress about having your bars all cut to the same size. Focus on what a great job you did!

Noooooooo!!! Thats a perfect size! Cut into 3" logs,then cut yr bars 1" to 1 1/4" thick.Actually it's a fairly standard sized bar-2.5x3x1. And the textured top is really lovely,it compliments the creamy look of the soap.

I agree. It looks nice, and creamy. And oh how great you're going to feel when you lather up with your own handmade soap. The beauty of the swirlies on top and the nonconformity of size and all is that it really says "this is a handmade by a real person" soap. If someone wants precision, there's always Ivory or Dove.
