Well I knew it had to happen sooner or later my first seize :-(. I was trying to do a 4 color swirl but I'm guessing either the coconut milk or half and half did the deed since I hadn't added the FO yet. Talk about a globby looking mess I have it out of the mold but I'll be real interested to see what it looks like cut since the sides look bad. I'm going to try again maybe tomorrow and just use RO water no milk products and see if that works any better unless anyone has a better idea I did soap at about 100 degrees maybe I need to go colder then that?

oh btw those colors I was going to swirl I just plopped them on top since they were getting solid also. :x

Weird that unscented soap batter would seize. What mix of oils were you using? What temps?

Who knows, maybe you'll get a pretty result even if not what you had planned.

it was exactly the same recipe I had used yesterday to make a red colored soap and I had no problems with it.
Beeswax 0.8oz
Castor 2oz
Coconut oil 12oz
Crisco 5.2oz
OO 10 oz
PO 10 oz
Lye 5.6oz
water 12 oz

The only difference is yesterday I used 100% coconut milk, today I used half and half and coconut milk 50/50 mixture. So my feeling was it had to be that.

Im not sure really but It's not the first time I've used this same brand in my soaps I'll have to read the label.

PS i'm going to try it again with RO water and my slab mold wish me luck :)

Good luck on your next batch!

My second batch (ever) of CP seized.
I can't believe how much it hurt my feelings! So much for beginners luck

I recently had a batch sieze/rice and everything awful it could do. It happened within seconds after I added the FO. I was devasted--it was my first time. I threw it all in a crock pot, beat the snot out of it with the stick blender till smooth and hot processed it. It ain't pretty but it wound up being a really nice mild soap--as it does smell incredible! I used Mango Peach Salsa from Peak--a soapin friend tried to use it too, the same thing happened. Wonderful scent but it's strictly going to be a hot process scent from now on.

Same thing with me, Tuscan Nights from Peak. Everything was A-OK till the fo. I wish I knew enough to HP it, but hey, that's how you learn, right?

My soap is butt-ugly, but it smells amazing.
