Hii,
This is my first hp salt soap (well, the first that can be used...)
Had to cut it after 20minutes, I used a small log (right word?) silicone mould.
It didn't hold it's form which is the reason for it's strange shape. The top of the bar was already getting hard so it looks a bit crumbly

The only problem is that no one really likes the scent (was better in the bottle)
The pictures are to big but I don't know how to get them smaller with an ipad.

Thanks for watching!

They look great, and I LOVE the color!! What scent did you use? Maybe it will evolve to something you like again. :)

i love the color too! they remind me of marshmallow bars, which are among my favorite comfort foods ever. maybe you could come up with some catchy clever name. nice job for your first try!

I think they look great, too. It's a very pretty color. I wouldn't worry about them being a little rough looking. They'll get smoother as you use them. :D

Thank you!
I used food coloring for this (since it's hp).
It's wilton icing colors, Sky blue http://www.google.be/search?q=wilton+ic ... -gbzgIHWBQ I believe (would have to check but I'm in bed half asleep atm :p
The icing colors are really great in hp (except red, still a mysterie)

The scent is aurora borealis FO, smelled great in the bottle, not so in the soap....
I have to find away to test them better...

They are very spa like. Something I would want to see when I went to rinse off in the shower at a spa. I like the texture!

Did the blue food coloring stain your hands when you washed with it?

I've always been told not to use food coloring in soap but I think it would be so much easier if we could

(but i don't want it to rub off or come off in the bath water)

thanks!

Oh and by the way, your soap looks beautiful! :)

Thank you for liking it :)
This is the second time I use food coloring in hp and there's hardly any trace of it when I use it..

If you don't mind me asking, when did you add the food coloring? at the end of the cook just before putting it in the mold? Also did you use the soap in the bath also?

thank you so much for answering!

This is great!

I haven't used this method yet so I'm very interested!

I cooked the soap (80% coconut, 10% olive oil, 10% castor oil) complete hp like any other soap, added sea salt (100%) and then I added the color, bit by bit, you can add color but can't take it away... And then in the mold asap since you get dry "clumps" that are not so easy to incorporate . I also use it in the bath, you don't see the color in the foam so it's not in your water either. :)

Great. Thanks! I'm going to give it a try.

I'm embarassed to say it but I've never added salt to my soaps (I'm not familiar with salt- soap making)

There's nothing to be embarassed about, just from the moment it's solid enough and it sticks together, cut it Very gently ( or just use a mold with cavities, or whatever the word is ;) )

Why should you be embarrassed? Many people don't care for salt bars.
