Hi, y'all. I'm Mel from southern Louisiana. I'm a newbie to the forum and to soap making, though I don't have anything on many of you. I like both melt and pour and cold process (still haven't tried hot process or hand milling), but I prefer cold process for the most part. Most of my soaps go to friends and family, but some local shop owners are hounding me to start a small local line, and I'm still thinking about it. When I'm not making soap or reading about making soap or thinking about making soap, I'm finishing my masters in English/creative writing, writing post-apocalypse genre fiction, hanging out with my wonderful husband and two wonderful kids and six wonderful pets (dog, cat, parakeet, and three chickens). That's usually enough to keep me busy, so I don't know why I'm even considering selling soap! ;-) Hope to get to know you all over the coming months.

Nice to meet you. When you are figuring it all out you might want to reconsider the name GreenScene - I believe it's already used for soap.

That way when you are actually prepared to sell down the road (after you've gotten good at soaping, know your stuff, have insurance and all that and more) you won't have to re-invent yourself.
