Just poured my first 100% olive oil soap into the mold!

Can't wait to use it in a year;)

Congratulations! You know you don't have to wait a year. I prefer a longer cure but it's really personal preference. Some people have mentioned they only cure it for 4 weeks.

Thanks Hazel! The first soap I ever made was 90% olive and 10% castor. Even after 8 weeks it was still softish and slimy when I used it. This time I'm going fight against my nature and be patient :) Hope I can make it.

I agree with you that the lather of young castile/bastile soap feels slimy but some people love it. Do you have other soap that you don't have to wait so long to use?

I am up to my eyeballs in soap! :) I try to make a batch each weekend if I have room to cure it. Each batch is a little bit different. This experiment/learning phase is fun. Most are ok after 4 weeks.
