Hi,
I'm only new to soapmaking and this forum, but I had a go at making a castile soap yesterday using 100% olive oil.
I used a lye calc for the first time too to create the recipe.
I treated the process just like my usual bases and left it to set for 24 hours in the mould.
It seems to have worked out nicely - I think it looks good and its already hardening up even more since cutting it up into bars.
just wondering - there doesn't seem to be a lot of soaps available that are 100% Olive Oil - most seem just to have OO as the dominant oil and still call it castile.
Is there any reason people don't use 100% OO?
Here's a pic of my soap... still needs a tidy up and trim.
Cheers,
Sonya
