Ok about a week ago I came back from my soap hiatus and made some GM soap with the OMH fragrance (my first time using fragrance and GM. I know, I know... but hey I've never been one to be shy about a challenge) The recipe was

OO 23.04 oz
CO 4.48 oz
PO 4048 oz

H2O 5.76 oz
Lye 4.303 oz

GM Added to oils 5.76 oz
FO 1.4 oz

So okay, it took about 5 days to unmold, I used individual cavity silicone mold.
This is a lengthy lead up to my question, which is when I do my zap test what am I looking for? A shock like licking a battery? I'm not sure what I felt when I licked it, it wasn't a shock but it was unpleasant.

I have previously never gotten to this stage, of actually being able to possibly use my soaps, so I hope you forgive if this is a completely ridiculous rudimentary question.

If you haven't already looked at it, I highly recommend 'The Zap test: a visual guide' sticky on this section of the forum (6th sticky down). Sooo funny and the best way to see the zap test in action with an explanation. I love that thread. It doesn't sound like a zap to me that you have. A zap is nasty and no mistaking them and yep like a battery. My GM soaps also take forever to unmould unless I throw them in the freezer due to lack of patience. Which would be every time.

Lol. Yes, patience is hard to come by. I actually mushed a bunch of the bars because I kept poking them to see if they had gotten harder. Thank you for the direction to the thread. I took a look at it before but I am going to go have a second look. Never hurts to look twice.
