Well my garden isn't just for eating. I am running low on soap and I have an abundance of canned carrots. So carrot soap from the garden it is!
I used three different kinds of carrots for 3 batches at 2 pounds each. I used a recipe from Jan Berry the Nerdy Farmwife! I used a yellow Gold Nugget carrot, an Orange Bolero carrot, and the Black Nebula carrot I grew a couple years ago. Scented 3 ways. Rose Quartz for the Gold Nugget soap. Crisp Cotton for the Bolero(my mom's choice). And finally a manly scent Birch Oud in the Black Nebula. I was most surprised how the Black Nebula turned out after the soaponification process. A nice light brown color. Now they just need to cure for 6-8 weeks.
They should be ready just in time for Christmas gifting! My house now smells wonderful! Can't wait to try out these new soaps!
As Red Green always says "If the women don't find you handsome they should at least find you handy"!
