I am trying to find a good recipe for a CP soap for people with oily, acne prone problems. I bought a bottle of Which Hazel and was thinking of using some of it in place of the H20. Would this be a problem? I have not purchased any of the clay's that might help. Hubby said I have to sell some soap before I buy more product. LOL. He is right, I've dropped a pretty penny buying oils and essential oils.

A lot of people have mentioned this recipe. http://teachsoap.com/gentle-acne-soap/

Other people have mentioned using a mild soap like castile or goat milk soap.

This is just my opinion but I think witch hazel would be better used as a toner. Also, the alcohol in it could cause the batch to seize. If it's alcohol free witch hazel, I'm not sure how well the benefits would survive saponification.

I have oily, acne prone skin. I wanted to make my own face soap too. I used a combo of avocado oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil, olive oil, palm oil and sweet almond oil. the one ingredient that I attribute my clear skin to is adding 1 tsp activated charcoal (from bramble berry) per pound oils. I must say that for once my skin isnt all dried out from high end commercial face cleansers and my face has never been clearer! Try it! ;) I also added coconut milk to my recipe but Im not sure that had anything to do with it...maybe?
