Expiry dates

Hi again,

I'm coming back to making soap after about a year. I'm still very much a beginner and going through the supplies I already have I am wondering whether lye and oils (I have olive and almond) have expiry dates?

Lye as long as it's stored properly and isn't all clumped up from moisture getting in it should be okay. I would test it by making a small batch first. As for oils OO generally 2 years and almond oil 1 year also dependent on how they were stored. If they smell bad don't use them.

Hmmm the lye was clumped up but I just banged it into the ground in the container to release it.
