Experimenting, this weekend.

I decided last week that it's time for me to start trying out new designs - swirling and embedding - as I've always done layered or simple bars.
I had a certain vision in my head last night, as I made my first attempt, and this is the result. I don't hate the results, although they fell somewhat short of what I was trying for. Live and learn. If anyone has swirling tips, I'd appreciate the first-hand info - I'm a bit intimidated by the process I've seen in tutorials lol.

I have,not tried swirling the colors in soap yet but I have used soapy curls in my soap before

I really like the look of your soap! Pouring two colors at the same time into individual molds is an easy swirl method. I just choose opposite diagonal corners in rectangle or square molds and pour. You can enhance the swirl with a chopstick, but don't do too much stirring or you might end up with muddy looking soap.

I'll definitely post photos, after I've come up with something new. Going to try a swirl bar, today or tomorrow, depending on how fast (ha!) I can get finished with my IRS studying.

First new attempt didn't go nearly as well as I'd have liked. Try, try, again! I'm used to working with layers, so I'm pretty sure my problem with this attempt was that I let the soap cool too much before pouring. I got some swirl going, but a) a few areas do have the 'muddy' appearance, and b) the swirls stayed in the center rather than being through the entire bar. Notes taken, and I'll keep going. I don't give up that easily.
