Excited for lard

I found the Manteca & was thinking about buying it. In soapcalc, is it the pig tallow option? I want to make sure I get it correct in there.

Yes - it's listed as: Lard, Pig Tallow

Thank you. I was reading the ingredients & didn't know if it mattered that it was made up of both hydrogenated & non-hydrogenated tallow.

The next month needs to hurry up & fly by so I can soap again. I have no more room for curing right now.

My last two batches have lard. Both came out super creamy, and I LOVE the color. It seems like bars made with lard come out a brighter white than the all vegetable bars I made in the past. It takes a little longer to trace, so if you want to do colors or swirls it gives you a little more time.

Also used shortening in the last batch and I loved it. Shortening, Lard, Canola and Palm with buttermilk, pictures are in the photo gallery. So far the bars are really nice.
