I ordered the mold and waiting on mr fed ex to come. If I like it I will order more. I don't think it would be that hard to build a wood mold to go around it.

Okay I am going to attempt to upload pictures! I made the coffee soap and the butter soap. The coffee soap was SO soft on the bottom. It was melting in my hand. The edges stuck to the mold a bit, but it still slid out okay. I had no idea it was so soft until after I removed the mold. I was really surprised because I let it sit for 30 hours. The butter soap came out no problem. It is a little soft too, but quite a bit firmer than the coffee soap. The corners are nice and crisp. It only sat for 24 hours. Hoping i can cut tomorrow.

I bought the mold no the red does not stain the soap the mold is study but id does buckle like any other silicone mold I use the box it came in or if you have a wooden box other then that Love it!!! would recommend it

I hope this ok to post here, but I think I can help some of you out if you end up needing a mold box for this liner. I have an example of a box made for a chawoorim liner here, and I'm always more than happy to help out my fellow soapers!

Also, I can attest to the fact that the red from silicone will not come off on soap. The color from this kind of silicone is non-transferable, so no fears there!

Thank you kazmi! I really like the design because the lid is designed to sit an inch above the soap and creates a seal that helps prevent ash. Its great if you make textured tops. :)

About the red transfer... I've made quite a few batches in the RED mold and have only had a slight transfer of red onto a castile soap I made. I had to leave the castile soap in the mold for about 48 hours before I could unmold it and maybe that is why it got a tinge of red/pink on the edges. None of my other soaps got the tint on them. I usually add sodium lactate to my batch so I can unmold quicker but I didn't to the castile. Still like the molds though. So easy to unmold and clean. Hoping to get the hubs to make wooden boxes for the molds this summer so I can get away from using the box.

I just used my RED molds last night for the first time. I must say that my soap unmolded within 8 hours easier than I've ever experienced with any other mold. However, there is a slight tinge to my bottom and corners from the mold. I'm hoping this will dissipate with continued use. I do not like using the cardboard box as it doesn't create a flat bottom, and I still had to stuff craft foam on each side to prevent the bowing. I may end up ordering wooden boxes.

Overall...if all my soap unmolds this easily, this mold is a WINNER!:-D

I meant to pipe in when this was a new thread, but got busy then forgot. When I first started soaping (umpteen years ago) I got a kit like this that came with everything, including the recipe, oils, mold and FO/EO for enough for 2 3lb batches of soap and also instructions on how to line the mold (it was a wooden mold) The only thing it didn't come with was lye.
Let me tell you, it was one of the best investments I made. I still have and use the mold and I learned more by using a kit my first time out than I would have by not.
I would say that if you are iffy and are "afraid" or don't really know how to formulate, this is an ideal way to start.
At least it was for me.

I purchased one and just got it yesterday. Hubby is making me a wooden mold to go with it. Can't wait to try it. I wonder if 'curing' it in the oven for a little bit before the first use would eliminate any potential discoloration.

BTW I purchased some lye (great prices!) and cocoa butter along with the mold and have to say the order processing and shipping was super fast! Will definately be purchasing from ED again.

I used mine this past weekend and didn't see any discoloration on my soap. May have been due to the color of my soap but I looked closely and can't see any. The soap came out of the mold so easily - even better than the 2 lbs silicone mold from CC.
