I thought I might try Bonnie's triple butter kit. It is almost identical to the recipe I have been working toward and it comes with a heavy duty mold. Also Catherine's kit looks great, she is the teacher for soaping 101. Here's a link in case you haven't heard about the new kits and molds yet. And they are on sale. *runs before people start whipping about wallet temptation*

I saw those yesterday after watching Catherine use her kit from ED. I'm tempted by the mold and the coffee kit. I can't justify more spending this paycheck though... it'll have to wait until next time

Does anyone have that exact mold & know if the red sticks to soap? I've seen where that's happened with some red molds & am just wondering if those have the same problem.
In the video there's a tinge of orangish red on the outside of the loaf of soap, but I can't tell if it's just a reflection or picture quality thing.

I think the price is fair. It comes with everything you need plus the mold and the mold is reusable. I was wondering if they might develop a wood box to hold up the mold. It's sturdy but it does bow in the middle. All they have for the support is the box it comes in. I love boxes, but I want a real mold, no more boxes! :D

Bummer that the shipping is so much. I was eyeing the molds only one. Don't know about using the cardboard box over and over, not with my sloppy ways. No way I'm keeping an oily box around. Guess you could cover the box in something to keep it clean and sturdy?

I did get the BB wooden mold liner. It is very flexible. Have to tape it up on the sides if you want to pour into it until it gets fairly full. Disclaimer being I don't have the BB wooden mold that goes with it, I have a different one.

I can say that I have a red silicone snowman cake mold, multi little snowmen rather, and it made the first few soaps turn bright orange! Castile only recipes. So, I now have tan snowmen heads.

Hopefully we will get some reviews as soon as those that have already ordered get them.

I have to say that I would rather furnish my own supplies and get my mold from Silvermoon with the wooden box. I am not affiliated with Silvermoon, but I can attest to the quality of their product.

Oh my. So I went to order a mold and found essential oils at fantastic prices in 2.2 lb sizes. I ordered more than $100 - bitter orange, ylang ylang, lye and a few FOs - got $10 off and shipping was only $13. I'm in heaven! Except, dang, I skipped the mold! Later this week I may have to guiltily go back and get the mold and oakmoss EO...

I was going to order the mold, but the shipping is almost as much as the mold.

That's a shame. I don't know why so many companies are still shipping by weight instead of volume. It's probably a UPS policy because of the cost of gas. USPS is cheaper but UPS comes to your door, so if I were a big company, I know which one I would be choosing.

I did notice shipping is high, but seems to be a common thing. I should have ordered some oil that was on sale with free shipping.... oh well. I am still super excited for my molds! Which shipped today! Have quite a wait since I am on the opposite side of the country... ;-)

I thought about that too. I am actually thinking about wrapping mine in contact paper to prolong the life of the box.

On the ED website, the soap kit video by Bonnie she puts three of the RED silicone molds into a large USPS priority mail box. Pretty neat, but don't think I'll shell out for three. Wonder how long they'll be on sale since I'm tapped out till next payday. I like the idea of the ease of silicone molds though.

I got my kits last week and just opened them today. I got the coffee soap kit and the butter kit. I really wanted all 3, but don't use animal products.

I just finished making the coffee soap. I really like the mold - EXCEPT I don't like having to put it in the box. I didn't think it would be any big deal, except I of course goobered the box. :problem: The other thing that would have been nice is written instructions or measurements or something. You have to watch the video and write everything down. And if you are like me and can't read your writing... well I made a couple mistakes but corrected them. Oh and I forgot to mix in my coffee grounds and just sprinkled them on top. It's setting up nicely now. I will try to post pictures tomorrow after I un-mold - have to figure out how to do that! Anyway I am going to have to figure out something a little more sturdy for the sides of the mold.

Think I am going to make the butter soap now!
