Newbie question here!! What is an embossed mold??!?! Lol, I'm obviously no help!! Curious though! Welcome!

This is a mold I have but have not used and am wondering how hard it will be to unmold.

It's silicone, so it should unmold easily once it is firm enough. It looks like it will make some pretty soaps.
I have that one coming.. isn't it gorgeous?? I'm planning on using soap batter that's just barely past emulsification so it can get into all the crevices, and then leaving it in the mold a little longer than I normally do. I'm really looking forward to playing with that mold.

I would avoid high liquid oil recipes though and use a lye discount. Might want to add some salt to the water before the lye or some sodium lactate. Will help with the unmolding, making it a bit harder. I would also gel the soap. Want to avoid making a soft soap.

As I am so new I have been using basic recipes that have OO content (45-55%). I only have OO, CO, PO on hand. Do you think a 35% OO, 30% PO, 30% CO, 5% CO and a 5% superfat would work? I looked up adding salt and The Spruce recommends 1/2 tsp per pound of oils (as I had to look that up, had not read about it yet). Or I saw a recipe that is 32 % OO, 32% PO, 32% CO, 4% CO, cleansing is at the top of the range 22 on soapcalc.

I would do 40% Palm, 25 CO, 30% Olive and 5% Castor. Salt I use 1 tsp ppo. I would also up the SF to 6 or 7%. I personally don’t use more than 25% coconut as some are sensitive to it.

Shunt recipe is great! Your recipe is good too loirag, if you do not want to use castor, but I would use 33 % of each oil if you do not mind high CO content. personally I like it.

Olive oil takes longer to set up in general and shrinks more when curing over the 4-6 weeks... So your imprint might warp more than expected later imagine a tattoo that looks great at 18. But not so hot at 55.
Also powdered resins like benzoin, frankincense or rosin were used to harden soaps as well

Thank you for all your help. I unmolded today and for a first try they are cute. I saw today where another soaper had put the embossed sheet in a larger mold and it made a lovely thicker border. So next try will be with a in the pot swirl and maybe a larger border. I will have to see if they change much in the 4- 6 weeks.

Well, I think they are gorgeous! If you want some extra color you can spray some mica on the top, and the spray with alcohol. It will allow you to see the crevices of such beautiful detail!
You did great, and I remember when I first started soaping I wanted to try everything! Still to this day, each soap is a surprise that I cannot wait to cut!

Looks like the detail preserved nicely. How long did you wait to unmold?
Now, I can't wait until mine arrives! They're beautiful!
