Adding too much shea butter seems to cause ash. I have reduced it to 3 percent for experiments, can't tell you the outcome yet, still curing.
When spraying with alcohol, it does seem the 91 percent rubbing alcohol works, for me. Before I stated normal rubbing alcohol works, but on further testing, not so much.
If you need to cover the wooden lid on the mold, just tape some freezer paper to it. No aluminum. Tape it flat so there are no wrinkles. I can say anything about plastic wrap as I didn't like the wrinkles if I laid it directly on the soap. Plastic wrap and I don't get along without scissors anyway, lol, that may be where my problem lies with that.
