Ok, so I'm not eating the ones pictured. But we did eat some that cracked during the boiling stage. All the eggs pictured were colored with natural colorants. Red cabbage from my garden, paprika and annatto seeds. Other accessories were rubber bands and paper towels. Crazy fun. We might make some more, not sure though. Most of the eggs we have left from our hens are the darker brown which isn't as easy to color.

Other pics of yummies to come.

Are you cooking anything special for Easter?

I have 3 kiddos...1 boy (10) and two girls (6 & 5) and I just finished hard boiling two dozen eggs (2 extra in case of cracking and we had 2 crack so we've eaten those!) and we'll all be coloring tonight. We usually go over to my in-laws house for lunch/brunch which will be the usual fare of ham, scalloped potatoes, and various extras along with their Easter eggs. I will be making a rustic tortellini soup for dinner tomorrow.. tonight is our "big one" or rather "expensive" I'm making vegetable beef soup. The expensive part is I make them with short ribs and all organic veggies which adds up. Brussel sprouts, potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, green beans, corn off the cob, onions... that's it I think lol.

We are doing dinner at my in-laws tomorrow too. We are bringing a few things. I smoked 2 pork roasts(one to take and one for us here) for about 7hrs, then finished them in the oven. I just got one open and had a little bit for my dinner. OH my GOODneSS!!! Seriously yummy! Plus we are taking a strawberry pretzel dessert and these gluten free little breadsticks that I made. I am just waiting on them to rise so I can bake them.

We also made a strawberry rhubarb pie for my youngest, but I am sure that won't make it over there to Nanas house. They are already begging to eat it :)

Well, I have no kids and don't celebrate Easter, so my plans for tomorrow are to cook up a batch of soap :) AngelMomma, the Easter eggs are wonderful, and the strawberries look incredibly delicious! Mindy, I love the cake and I am glad that you are able to share family traditions with your children for the holiday!

Looks and sounds like everyone is having a good time and good eats for Easter! I think we're actually having a turkey tomorrow. We don't celebrate Easter, so not sure why the big meal. It's neither Easterish nor Kosher... oh well, it will be yum!

I don't celebrate Easter either. But I live with my parents who are Catholic. So I adhere to the religious gastronomical dictates. So I am cooking garlic & rosemary roast lamb chops with mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, roasted Brussels sprouts in a bacon cream sauce & asparagus w/garlic & oil
