We will be observing Earth Hour (no electric lights or appliances) in South Africa from 20h30 to 21h30 tonight.

Who else is participating ?

I live in a complex of 96 townhouses and hopefully everyone here will also participate. All the other members of my family and loads of friends will be doing the same.

The response last year was far better than I had hoped and many of the shopping malls and restaurants in our suburb have pledged to take part this year.

We observe it each year. This year we went for a walk around our neighbourhood and could see that more homes were without lights
