I made up some extra soap batter yesterday when making the tops for my beer soaps, which I was planning to do some practice swirls/experiments with (I'd love to manage a decent tiger swirl!). Anyway, the soap started to seize real quick so change of plans. I tossed some Spearmint EO in and some Deep Sea green to make a base and grabbed some of the balls I had aside. I used both peppermint and choc ones. Not the soap I had planned for either the balls or the batter. The top is rough and you can see how it was seizing up. I expected a lot of air bubbles when I cut it but the frantic banging of the mould on the bench must of worked.
The mould I grabbed in a flying rush was too big for the amount of batter and I had already filled my other ones with beer soap. That's why they are cut funny into chunky blocks or they'd be too flimsy. I like the way they turned out in the end but they vary in weight from 130 grams up to just over 240 grams. I think it would look weird if I cut them into thinner strips because they're so darn short.
Keep as is or chop em?
