Pardon my ignorance on this topic as i'm completly new to the clay powders etc used in different soaps as colourants.
Last night whilst in the feed shed I was looking at my vit c powder but also the Dolomite. Could the Dolomite be used as a colourant in cp soap? it has a talcome powder texture to it and a beautiful soft tan colour. Just a thought.

Hi GG, As dolomite is comprised of calcium and magnesium (thanks for the wiki link) possibly it may be used instead of Rhassoul Clay? R/Clay contains silica, magnesium, potassium and calcium.....perhaps dolomite may perform in a somewhat similar manner in soap? Here is a link which describes what Rhassoul is used for:-

Why not try some in a small test batch and see how it feels on your skin? If you want it mainly for a colourant try 1 tsp ppo (per 500g) and increase as you feel the need.

Tanya :)

Thanks Tanya for the help and link. I will give it a go and see what it comes out like. I have so much of the stuff that the goats are taking FOREVER to get through it. Blessings, Donna. :D
