I made a gardening soap and mixed my colors in 30 grams of glycerine before adding it to my 1 pound test batch. I used my soapmaker 3 to create a hard bar, 7 on the 1-10 scale but adding the glycerine into the mix didn't change the number either way. So is this a function of the software or does glycerine not affect the hardness of the soap.

No, the hardness of the soap depends on the fatty acid profile of the oils you use. Glycerol doesn't change this value.
