Does castile soap have a "smell"?

I want to make my first batch of pure castile soap, and am wondering whether or not it is going to have a "funky" smell to it. I don't particularly like the smell of olive oil... is it going to come through strong in the soap?

yes it has a funky smell - but not like olive oil per se, but it fades over time.
