Does beeswax really make for a harder soap?

Yes, the beeswax does make it harder. However, you may want to use palm kernel oil instead of palm oil. There is a difference in the amount of lather you get. If I may add my own two cents to this post, I find no need for castor oil in soapmaking when I've got the coconut oil or 100% palm kernel oil (instead of coconut oil and/or castor oil) for lather.
