I'm about to start scenting my soap. Im looking for any information regarding scents dissipating over time and how to anchor them.. Im hoping to scent soap as natural as possible using eo's, herbs, teas, honey and so on. Im not one for fragrance or perfume. I have read through here a bit but maybe missed a good explanation. Thank you in advance.

Herbs and teas don't produce a scent that last in CP soap. Essential oils are your best bet for going naturally with lasting fragrance. However, citrus EO is notorious for not lasting. You will need to add an anchor such as litsea cubeba with citrus EOs.

Adding clay is supposed to help anchor the scent, sometimes I soak the clay in the EO before adding it to the oils. Another way to preserve the scent is to do hot process soap and add the EO's after the cook while its cooling down (and with HP you only need about half the amount of EO). And yeah, nobody has reported reliable long lasting scent results with anything but FO's and EO's that I know of.
