Does anyone own Escali, MyWeigh or Proscale digital scale? How do these manufacturers compare to each one another? If you had to purchase a New or Replacement digital scale what brand (manufacturer) would you purchase? Which digital scale brand (manufacturer) would you avoid like the plague?

I think mine is the MyWeigh, (an older version) and have had no problems with it in the 5 years with the exception of melting the plastic that covers the readout (the readout is fine though)

As for comparison, I can't help you as this is the only scale I have used. (and yes, I'm about due for a new one also)

What type of warranty does manufacturer (for scale you have) offer? Do they stand behind in honoring their product warranty? Is My Weigh scale only sold online? What retailers carry the My Weigh scales in store?

I have no idea - LOL I know if they did offer any kind of extended warranty, I didn't get it, as I never get those for anything I buy...

Like I said, mine is well over 5 years old and I have not had any problems with it at all so I haven't had to worry about it. I bought it off of eBay from OldWillKnot scales. I'm not even sure if they are around on eBay anymore and I haven't researched at all getting a new one so I don't know what is even out there these days...

I'm so sorry I couldn't have been more help. :(

would a scale from the post office with a tear function be ok for soap?

As long as you are making small batches. I think those scales only got to 5lbs total. (I think-I could be wrong on that though)

And yes, for me the tare function was a must... Most digital scales offer that function though. :)
